Tell Me More…
A coach is to a therapist as a physical trainer is to a physician.
Life coaching is a practice designed to serve people who are mentally and emotionally stable (though we all have our moments!). Coaching enhances, rather than restores, mental and emotional functioning.
Coaching is generally focused on your present experience.
Compared to therapy, coaching is generally focused on your present experience with the intent of supporting you in building a bridge to your future goals. Life coaching does not aim to dig deeply into your past experiences, diagnose, or pathologize.
Coaching honors your sovereignty and aims to empower.
Coaching holds no objective or outcome for your sessions beyond what you are personally seeking. Coaches do not often give advice or guidance, but rather will listen deeply, offer tools for working with experience, and ask meaningful questions so your own guidance can speak.
Coaching focuses on subtracting, not adding.
Coaching allows for a process of shedding “shoulds”, “have tos”, and “I can’ts” so you can free up your creativity and energy to do what you do with more ease and joy. You don’t have to “do more” to get the results you hope for. It may be more a matter of letting go so life can flow.
Coaching is great for periodic refinement of your personal development.
Three or four sessions may be all it takes to give you the tools and insights needed to overcome an obstacle or to bridge a life transition. As you get rocking and rolling in your new chapter, challenges will likely arise and inspire a tune up with your coach.
Life coaching facilitates (and can expedite) the process within these transition points or new life challenges so you can get back to more of the good stuff!
Is coaching right for me?
+ I’m meeting a roadblock, obstacle or repeating thought that is keeping me from the next great thing.
+ I’m interested in creating more resiliency in myself.
+ I’m willing to be curious and compassionate with myself.
+ I’m ready to have another set of eyes, ears, and heart on my current experience or predicament.
+ I’m generally stable mentally and emotionally but could certainly use some help.
